WearMeNow Brings Try-On to the Storefront: A Preview of the Real-Time Platform for Apparel
Eyewear and footwear are already live. Now WearMeNow is building a real-time try-on platform for apparel — the kind that runs on LED walls, whether that's a storefront window or out on the street. Here's what it means for merchants.
The fitting room steps out of the shop (and off the phone)
If you run a fashion store, you already know the try-on moment is where desire turns into a decision. For the past two years, WearMeNow has been bringing that moment online with generative AI virtual try-on: the customer uploads a photo, picks the garments, and gets a realistic image of the outfit on their own body. No 3D avatar to build, no body scan — just a photo and product references.
Today we're adding a new piece, and we're announcing it as a preview: we're building the real-time 3D try-on platform for apparel. Eyewear and footwear are already finished and working; apparel is the next milestone. The goal is to move the try-on experience out of the smartphone and into physical space — an LED wall installed in a storefront or on the street, where a person stands in front of it, picks a garment or a shoe, and sees themselves projected on the screen wearing it, in real time.
This page is a transparent preview of what we're building, and of how it connects to what WearMeNow already does today for merchants.
What is already ready: eyewear and footwear
The roadmap moves in stages, and the first two are closed. Eyewear and footwear have simpler geometries and anchor points (nose bridge, ankle, foot sole) that allow stable real-time rendering even on storefront-grade hardware. That's why they're the first categories available in the real-time platform.
For the merchant this means something concrete: you can already build a physical try-on experience for two product categories while apparel is on its way. The eyewear and footwear categories are visible in the demo catalog on AI Virtual Try-On All Store, where you can see how the items are presented to the public.
What we are building: real-time apparel
Apparel is the hardest challenge: fabrics that drape, folds, layering, changing light. We're working so that the LED wall can show a real person wearing the chosen garment, updated as they move. This isn't a feature to announce as "already available" — it's work in progress, and we'd rather tell you clearly.
In the meantime, WearMeNow's generative AI virtual try-on remains the engine that powers the experience: the same technology that generates the realistic image of the garment on the body is what makes the LED wall rendering credible too. You can dig into how it works on AI Virtual Try-On and on the How It Works page.
Why an LED wall in a storefront changes the rules for merchants
An LED wall is not a billboard: it's a try-on point. The person walking past the shop sees their own reflection wearing the chosen garment, and that selection can become a cart. It's the bridge between the physical store and the online store — the garment tried on in the window is the same garment the customer finds in the catalog, with the same product page and the same availability.
For a Shopify store this translates into three operational advantages:
- More contact time with the product. A storefront try-on extends dwell time and creates a reason to walk in.
- Tracked selection. The choice made in front of the LED wall can be saved and retrieved, so the customer finds it again online.
- Catalog consistency. The same product lives on the WearMeNow Shopify Plugin, in the storefront, and in social campaigns.
If you want to understand how this integrates with your catalog, the starting point is the WearMeNow page.
From storefront to store: the role of voice, social, and SEO/GEO
A storefront experience only works if it's connected to the rest of the funnel. WearMeNow covers the channels where the customer searches and decides.
With voice commerce the customer describes out loud what they're looking for — "an army green jacket, size M" — and the platform guides them to the try-on. It's the most natural way for someone standing in front of an LED wall who doesn't want to touch a screen: details are on Guendalina Voice Commerce.
With Social AI the content generated by try-ons becomes material for Instagram and TikTok, the channels WearMeNow integrates with to carry the try-on beyond the shop: Social AI.
And with SEO GEO Intelligence the store becomes the answer AI assistants cite when someone asks "where can I try on this garment". Structured data and indexing files work so your catalog is machine-readable: SEO GEO Intelligence.
A clarification we want to make
WearMeNow is not an augmented reality app. Our approach is generative AI virtual try-on: a photo of the person plus garment references, and a realistic image of the result. We don't build 3D body avatars, we don't do mesh fabric simulation, and we're not a WebAR fitting room.
The real-time 3D apparel project is an extension of the experience toward physical space, with eyewear and footwear already ready as a first step. If you've seen the name "WearNow AR" around, note that it's a different consumer app and has nothing to do with WearMeNow.
What you can do today
You don't need to wait for real-time apparel to get started. Today you can:
1. See the try-on in action on the categories already available: AI Virtual Try-On All Store.
2. Connect your catalog with the Shopify plugin: WearMeNow Shopify Plugin.
3. Understand the costs based on try-on volume: WearMeNow Pricing.
4. Evaluate the alternatives with an honest table comparing VTO-only plugins and a full platform: compare.
Conclusion
WearMeNow is building the real-time 3D try-on platform for apparel, with eyewear and footwear already operational. The idea is simple: bring the try-on where the customer already walks — in the storefront, on the street, in front of an LED wall — and connect it to the online store, voice commerce, social, and visibility on AI assistants.
This is a work-in-progress announcement, not an availability announcement. But it's also confirmation of a direction: virtual try-on is not a widget, it's the point where desire becomes a purchase. And WearMeNow wants to build it with merchants, one step at a time.
